Gil Murillo

 
Co-Founder and Managing Partner

Gil Murillo is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Novo Lodging Partners. Prior to co-founding Novo Lodging Partners, Mr. Murillo was the Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Watermark Capital Partners, a leading hotel investment management firm that co-sponsored and managed the Carey Watermark Investors lodging REITs. During Mr. Murillo’s tenure at Watermark he transacted on over $5 billion of hotels and resorts including the acquisition of approximately 50 assets across the full spectrum of property types, markets and investment/risk strategies. Mr. Murillo led the investment team at Watermark during a period when the firm was one of the most active hotel and resort investors in the United States. Previous to Watermark, Mr. Murillo was an associate in Citigroup’s equity research group, performing fundamental equity analysis of public companies in the gaming and lodging industries and advising institutional investors, and an analyst at Fieldstone, a boutique investment bank.

 

Mr. Murillo holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Fordham University and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.

Rick Moceri

Mr. Moceri is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Novo Lodging Partners. In his career, Mr. Moceri has executed on approximately $4.0 billion in luxury, full-service, limited-service, and resort lodging acquisitions and dispositions for firms including Watermark Capital Partners, Tishman, and Lodging Capital Partners. These 30+ individual transactions spanned across all major U.S. markets including San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Nashville, New York, Seattle, San Jose, Miami, Honolulu, Austin, Washington, D.C., Phoenix, San Diego, Atlanta, and Portland. Throughout his career, Mr. Moceri has coupled his investment experience with a significant amount of asset management and operational oversight, having been responsible for investment thesis execution across several ownership portfolios.

 

He is a graduate of Michigan State University’s The School of Hospitality Business, and also received a minor in Real Estate Investment and Development. Mr. Moceri has been awarded the Alumni Achievement Award, and remains an active member of the real estate program.
